A Dorset bus driver has been recognised for his professionalism and sterling performance - including steering safely through challenging weather conditions.

Paul Way, who drives a coach transporting Thomas Hardye School pupils, was named Damory's employee of the year at the bus operator's annual ceremony.

“I’m overwhelmed, flattered and very honoured to receive this award," said Mr Way, who lives in Dorchester. "It makes me very proud to be recognised in this way, and has inspired me to achieve even more over the coming months with my excellent colleagues at Damory.”

Damory managing director Andrew Wickham presented the award to Mr Way. "Paul is among the most professional drivers we have here at Damory,” he said. “He is always smartly presented, pleasant, approachable and is a consistent high-performer.

“Having won our Employee of the Month award twice in one year for his exceptional driving in tough weather conditions, and his cool and calm demeanour in busy and challenging situations, it is very clear to see why Paul received this accolade.

“I would like to congratulate him on this achievement, while wishing him a successful year ahead.”

In recognition of his efforts, Paul received £1,500 worth of vouchers and a framed certificate.
