A police sergeant told another officer he wished she was his mum ‘for the breastfeeding’ while in a busy meeting room, it is alleged.
The female officer, known as PC D, said Sergeant Stephen Hughes made the comment in front of colleagues in an alleged incident in 2015.
During a misconduct hearing into Sgt Hughes’s alleged breach of the standards of professional behaviour, PC D said: “The words he said to me, I remember them like it was a couple of days ago.”
Sgt Hughes's lawyer Darren Bennett said Sgt Hughes has no recollection of making the comment, but admits it is something he could have said.
PC D also alleges that while working as a part time officer at Dorchester, she received "almost daily belittling comments" from male colleagues about part time workers having an "easy life."
She said: "You get abuse on the streets and that's fine and we accept that. I don't expect it from a supervisor, and you don't expect it to get nasty with bullying from your colleagues.
"It's difficult to stand up to a sergeant because you don't want your life to become difficult."
PC D left Dorset Police after a long career, because she no longer felt "safe". However at yesterday's proceedings she said being a police officer was her dream job since the age of 15 and she "just wanted her job back."
The hearing continues.
