A group of determined weight losers shed more than 150 stone between them last year.

Members of the Dorchester Saturday morning Slimming World members lost a huge 155 stones between them in 2017 with target members Sarah Upton, Simon Collier, Lisa Harvey, Tracey Frampton and Mary Miller losing a joint total of 15 stones.

Since January this year, Saturday group members have lost almost 500 pounds between them, the average weight of a six-month-old Friesian calf.

Lisa lost three stones to achieve her target weight and launch a new career as a Slimming World consultant at the beginning of 2018.

She said: “Joining the Saturday Slimming World group was the best decision I have ever made. Not only do I feel happier and healthier, but I have made a whole new set of friends who, along with my friendly consultant Tracie, have supported me all the way to my dream weight.”

Lisa added: “Even though I am now a consultant myself, I still need to attend my own group as a member to maintain my target weight."

Simon lost more than four stones to achieve his target weight, and his partner Mandy, who also attends the Saturday morning group, also achieved the four stone award.

He said: “The group is so welcoming and friendly, no one judges or criticises you even if you haven't had such a good week, and you always leave group with a lift and a new sense of energy to cope with the week ahead. It is just like one big family.”
