A cancer support group showcased their creative flair when they took on a life-drawing class.

The GO Girls!, who support women with gynaecological cancers, teamed up with the Purbeck Workshop for a morning of life drawing.

Teresa Wolff, vice chair of GO Girls! said: "This was the first time we had tried this art style. It was very different but a great learning experience and so therapeutic. Although we paint watercolours as a group, life drawing was quite different and we learnt lots of new skills."

Th class was led by Dorset arts facilitator, Bridget Townsend.

She said: "We try to bring new creative activities to the Purbeck Workshop - creative escapes are often the perfect tonic for those suffering from cancer and those caring for people with cancer".

"We were delighted to be working with the Purbeck Workshop again - all I can say is we probably shouldn't give up the day jobs looking at our results. John, our model, was incredibly patient and far too polite about our finished works. It was fantastic fun."

GO Girls! support women with gynaecological cancers and are on their final hurdle to raising £50,000 towards Dorset County Hospital's Cancer Appeal.

The Cancer Appeal is a project which will develop cancer facilities for patients in North, South and West Dorset and bring radiotherapy services to Dorchester for the first time.
