Firefighters came together to say goodbye to Watch Manager Phil Cuff who after 27 years of service hung up his kit for the last time.

Mr cuff was presented with a long service plaque and certificate by Area Manager Craig Baker on Easter Sunday.

He was also presented with a firefighter’s axe and brass tally, which was purchased by the crew of Sherborne.

A post on Sherborne Fire Station’s Facebook Page called Mr Cuff a ‘valued member’ who will ‘sadly be missed.’

It adds: “Enjoy all your free time off and thank you for your service to the community of Sherborne.”

Mr Cuff’s friends congratulated him by commenting on the post and sending him their best wishes.

Yeovil Fire Station were among those commenting and said: "All the best Phil from all at Yeovil."
