A Dorchester clinic pulled out all the stops for its first birthday in efforts to raise money for charity.

It has been over a year since The Highbrow Clinic in Brewery Square first opened its doors to the public.

To celebrate the occasion, the clinic invited its friends and loyal clients to a champagne reception.

Louisa Franzen owner of The Highbrow Clinic, thought it would be a good idea to mark the occasion by raising some money for charity and offering one lucky client a free semi-permanent eyebrow treatment worth £370.

A Facebook competition was launched in preparation for the event, and Amy Quin, who has undergone chemotherapy won the treatment.

Louisa said Amy was ‘over the moon’ and described her as a ‘worthy winner.’

She added: “Amy said that after her chemotherapy the thing that knocked her confidence the most was losing her eyebrows.”

Louisa’s daughter Lily Franzen, aged 12, decided to have her hair cut to help raise money for the Little Princess Trust and decided to donate some of her hair to the cause. The trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young adults up to the age of 24, who have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.

Louisa said her daughter has raised more than £1,300 for the charity.

She added: “It was a bit overwhelming for her, but she is happy she did it and that she has managed to raise so much.”

A charity raffle was also held to raise some money for Cancer Research.

Louisa said the event was a ‘success’ with a ‘better turnout’ than expected.

She added: “I would like to say a big thank you for the support we have received over the last year, and would like to thank all our loyal clients.”
