Building of a new business venture which will benefit those with disabilities and the community is due for completion at the end of the summer.

The Seals Cove property, on the St Andrew's Estate will provide not only a place to go to for children, but adults, the community and businesses.

Seals Cove, which is owned by the Seal family, will include an indoor shooting range, emporium, cafe, climbing wall, soft play area, party rooms, outdoor areas, as well as a conference room and a sensory play room.

Christopher J Seal, the project manager and designer of the project, said: "It's been a very stressful process.

"We are a family team, and when things have gone wrong, I have got stick from the family.

"Once this is open, it will be a really really good place for people to come.

"Unfortunately unforeseen costs have delayed the project, and we do not want to open until everything is right."

When open, Christopher and his cousin, general manager Emma Dela Hunty, predict that 40 to 50 jobs will be created for the nearby population.

The site's emporium will provide an opportunity for traders to have pitches, the number of which is due to be discussed with the council.

Emma said: "There will be lots of opportunity for traders, and we want to look after the existing traders we work with."

The complex has been fitted with disabled access both on the ground floor and first floor, with disabled access party rooms also created.

There will also be a state of the art sensory room, which will be for children and adults.

Emma said: "The room itself is colourless for those with Aspergers syndrome, and we hope that once it opens that it can be used for training parents, carers and schools.

"The support we have received from Mountjoy School has been second to none.

"When open, entry will be free for the public to use.

"We have had family members use the services available for people with disabilities, so we hope that this will be used a lot.

"The dream is that local business help us support this room, and we had hoped to advertisement which we haven't got so far.

"However we are hoping this will change, to allow this room to reach people of all ages."
