CHRISTIAN AID MARKET

A CHRISTIAN Aid Market will be held at the United Church from 9.45am until 1.45pm today (16).

There will be a host of stalls, plus coffee, tea and food.

The market will be opened my the Mayor of Dorchester, Cllr Susie Hosford.

FASHION SHOW

A FASHION show with a difference is coming to Poundbury today (16).

The event will be held at The Duchess of Cornwall in Queen Mother Square from 12.30pm until 2.15pm and will be raising funds for Weldmar Hospicecare.

It has been put together with the help of Jasminka Hansson and the creative minds of Medusa Apothecary in Dorchester.

The show will feature new Medusa summer lines woven around a three-course lunch, a bubbly welcome drink and special goody bags.

PRIZE BINGO

DORCHESTER Town Community Football Club will be hosting it's prize bingo.

It will be held at the Avenue Stadium on Friday, May 18.

Doors open at 6.30pm with eyes down at 7.30pm.

There will be lots of prizes and a cash jackpot.

SPONSORED WALK

AN EIGHT-miles sponsored walk has been organised from St Peter's Church to Bowleaze Cove.

Anyone interested should meet at St Peter's Church just before 9.30am on Saturday, May 19.

NETWORKING EVENT

THE Dorset CCG Patient Participation Group (PPGs) is hosting a networking event.

It will be held at the Dorford Centre from 2pm until 4.30pm on Thursday, May 24.

This event aims to showcase the positive work PPGs are doing with their GP practices.

CRAFT ACADEMY

HALF term craft academy will be held at Dorset County Museum.

It will run from 10.30am until 3.30pm on Wednesday, May 30.

Children aged five to 11 must be accompanied by an adult.

HISTORY TALK

ROB Curtis will be giving a talk at the Dorford Centre on behalf of the Dorchester Asscoiation for Research into local History and Archaeology.

It is entitled 'Turnpikes and Dorset's Coaching Days.

It will start at 7.30pm on Thursday, May 31 and everyone is welcome.

HARDY'S FANS

HELEN Angear will be giving a talk at Dorset County Museum from 7pm.

The talk will be on Thomas Hardy and his fans and it will be held on Thursday, May 31.

WARM FESTIVAL

The Warm Festival, supporting Steve Charles Help A Friend Fund, will be returning to the Borough Gardens this summer.

As always there will be music, food stalls, a raffle and a bar and everyone is welcome.

Organisers are looking for stalls from arts and craft groups as well as sponsors and performers for the event.

EXPLORE WOODLAND

Regular woodland walks are held around Thomas Hardy's cottage.

These gentle strolls look at the landscape using senses such as touch, sound and smells to enable those involved to discover the reserve.

The next walks are scheduled on June 19, July 17, September 18 and October 9.

The walks are based in Thorncombe Woods.

FILM SHOWING

THE Dorset Palestinian Israeli Peace Group will be showing the acclaimed film Lemontree on Wednesday, June 20.

The film will be show at the Dorford Centre, starting at 7pm.

There will also be refreshments on sale.

POETRY THROUGH PICTURES

Enjoy learning about Hardy’s poetry through pictures at Dorset County Museum.

The exhibition will run at the museum from Monday, May 14 until Tuesday, May 29 and is by Jennifer Martindale.

FUN DAY

A fundraising event is being held in Poundbury to support Dorchester Community Nursery School.

The Fun Day will be held on Saturday, July 7 from 12pm until 8pm on The Great Field.

There will be a host of stalls, a bouncy castle, rides and attractions, live music, a friendly football tournament, a dog show, food and drink and much more.
