Thousands of people are set to travel to London this weekend to watch the fairytale wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

With Princess Charlotte and Prince George set to play a starring role in the event as a bridesmaid and a pageboy, the wedding is set to be a real treat for fans of the Royal family.

So what do you need to know about travelling there?

  • People are being urged to plan ahead. Rail replacement services are running between Weymouth and Wareham this Saturday due to engineering works
  • There are two train services to Windsor: London Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside (services provided by South Western Railway) and Slough to Windsor & Eton Central - (services provided by Great Western Railway)
  • A queuing system will be in place in Slough and travelling to Windsor may be restricted for safety and security
  • Oyster cards are not valid for the journey so get your ticket sorted first
  • Thames Valley Police and British Transport Police will be carrying out checks
  • The Royal Procession is set to finish at 1.30pm and people are advised to stagger their journeys home

The wedding will take place at St George's Chapel, Windsor on Saturday.

The service will begin at St George's Chapel at midday and will be conducted by the Dean of Windsor, The Rt Revd. David Conner. The Most Revd. and Rt Hon. Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, will officiate as the couple make their marriage vows.

At 1pm, following the service, the couple will travel around Windsor in a horse-drawn carriage, providing an opportunity for members of the public to see them and join in with the celebrations.
