Letter: County council will fly flag of Wessex
In 2013, the then Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Eric Pickles, authorised the flying of the regional flag of Wessex, and declared May 25 to be Wessex Day.
Since then, the Wessex Society has offered a free flag to any local authority within the region willing to fly it from their headquarters.
We are delighted to announce that Dorset County Council has taken us up on this offer.
