Two people have been taken to hospital following a two-car crash near Winterbourne Abbas.
The incident took place on the A35 west of the village, earlier this afternoon.
Dorset Police attended the scene and said they were called at 2.25pm.
The cars involved where a Vauxhall Corsa and a Vauxhall Astra.
South Western Ambulance Service attended the scene along with Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
An air ambulance along with a rapid response vehicle and three road ambulances raced to the scene.
The driver of the Corsa, a 73-year-old woman has been taken to Dorset County Hospital along with the car’s passenger.
They were transferred to the hospital via an ambulance and are both believed to have suffered serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Astra, a 31-year-old man from Devon was treated at the scene.
The A35 was closed both ways following the incident, but has now been reopened.
