A broken-down lorry was partially blocking Portland Road (A354).
The vehicle broke down near Wyke Methodist Church and the junction with Sunnyside Road.
Drivers were warned traffic was very slow moving and there was congestion to Dumbarton Road and to Connaught Road.
The vehicle has now been removed and traffic is easing.
