POLICE investigating a serious assault in Swanage are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Sometime between midnight and 1am on Friday, June 22 an assault is reported to have occurred in Sentry Road.

The victim, a 38-year-old man from Uxbridge who was on holiday with his family, had spent the evening in the town drinking when he was attacked shortly after he was ejected from The Snack Bar on High Street.

He sustained cuts above his left eye and the back of his head. The victim does not recall how he sustained his injuries or who was responsible.

Detective Constable Jeremy Cuff, of Weymouth CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to please contact Dorset Police.

“From initial CCTV enquiries I know there were a number of people on High Street at the relevant time and I would urge anyone who may know who was responsible for this assault to please call me.”
