Shame upon those in County Hall who have yet again seen fit to treat Portland with contempt by disregarding the need for access to the island to be improved.
Bad enough that central government may not approve the desperately needed Western bypass but for the Dorset County Council not to allow the Jurassic Coast Highway to be included in the Department of Transport Major Roads Plan ensures that it will not even be considered.
I suppose that the newly restructured council boundaries will further ensure that certainly Portland and probably Weymouth will continue to get the sticky end of the county council’s biased stick.
