A woman was rescued after becoming stuck at the base of a cliff on Portland.
Portland Bill Coastguard Rescue Team were contacted yesterday (8) afternoon just before 2.30pm to reports that a woman had become stuck at the base of Westcliff.
With the assistance of Wyke Coastguard, both teams headed to the scene and located the woman near to Southwell Business Park.
Members of the teams made their way to the base of the cliff using a small foot path and assessed the casualty and her location. With the casualty not needing any medical assistance the teams were able to use a rescue sling and safety lines to walk the casualty safely back to the top of the cliff.
A spokesman for Portland Bill Coastguard Rescue Team said: "We would like to remind the public to take care on and around the coast. If you or others need assistance dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
