A man has been taken to hospital after a serious crash on the A351 near Corfe Castle

The crash was between a car and a motorcycle between Norden and Stoborough Green.

The car left the road and ended up in a hedge.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said they were called to the scene at around 2.30pm.

Two crews from Swanage Fire Station also attended to help extract two people who were stuck in the car due to brambles.

Fire crews also assisted the ambulance service with a third casualty, a male motorcyclist.

An air ambulance attended the crash scene but the man was taken to hospital by road.

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We attended with three ambulances, one air ambulance, and two operations officers.

"Two people in the car were treated at the scene. The male motorcyclist was transported by road ambulance to Poole Hospital with a leg injury."

The road was closed between Furzebrook roundabout and the Halfway Inn at Norden.

Several bus services became stuck due to the crash including three school services and the number 40 and number 50 services.

Recovery was arranged for both vehicles and the road reopened shortly after 4.30pm.
