A temporary road closure will be in place for an annual festival.

Dorset County Council has issued a notice under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to prohibit the use of part of South Street.

Cyclists, horse riders and all mechanically propelled vehicles except those taking part in the event and emergency vehicles will not be able to use the road.

Waiting, loading and unloading has also been prohibited.

The notice has been issued for the Bridport Folk Festival and will be in place from 8.30am until 6.30pm on Sunday, July 29.

An alternative route has been set up for the time of the closure.

Any person who uses or permits the use of part of South Street, Bridport in contravention of the notice will be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1000.
