Camp Bestival returns to Dorset this weekend for three packed days of music, comedy, food and drink and family entertainment.

The family-friendly festival, back for an 11th year at Lulworth Castle, will see singer-songwriter Rick Astley headline on the Castle Stage tomorrow.

On Saturday, sets from Clean Bandit and Basement Jaxx will be the main musical attractions, while the final day, Sunday, will see a headlining set from Scottish rock group Simple Minds.

There will also be comedy from the likes of Sean Lock and Dave Johns, while younger visitors can enjoy tailored entertainment from duo Dick and Dom and performer Mr Tumble, among a host of others.

The site opens today for families to set up their tents.

Here's the weather forecast for the weekend.

As well as these stellar names of the national music and entertainment worlds, home-grown talent will also be on display, highlighting Dorset's maritime heritage.

Acapella group Dorset Wrecks, a band of around 10 singers from Weymouth and the surrounding area, will be playing between 11.30 am and 12pm on Sunday, treating the audience to a selection of rollicking sea-shanties from Dorset and beyond - entitled Now That's What I Call Sea-Shanties.

Other Dorset-based acts include ska band Guns of Navarone and punk outfit Pronghorn.

Yoga-lovers are meanwhile being urged to help break a Guinness World Record.

An attempt to break the world record for the largest-ever Silent Yoga class will be made tomorrow, Friday, with 370 yoga practitioners needed to ensure the record is surpassed.

"Silent Yoga is yoga, but using silent disco headphones," the organisers explained. "The class will be led by the Silent Yoga UK team, who will guide you through the different postures and be on hand to help you out."

The class is designed for all ages – if you're interested in joining in the attempt, get down to the Big Top before 10am; participation will be first come, first served.

Co-founder Rob da Bank said he was excited about the festival.

“The deckhands and salty seadogs keep on coming, with loads more interactive shenanigans for the kids and family added to this year’s line-up," the DJ said.

“The team and I spend a lot of time seeking out the most enjoyable and enchanting shows and activities to bring to Lulworth Castle, so that you can do something different with your family every day at Camp Bestival.

“Come and get stuck into the fun.”
