BREXIT! What a shambles!

Theresa May hanging on by her finger tips to power by desperately trying to appease the Eurosceptic right of her party led by Jacob Rees-Mogg and ex-Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson piling on the pressure.

Boris for PM? I don’t think so!

Meanwhile, a Labour leader in Jeremy Corbyn who appears to be inflicting his Eurosceptic views on a largely pro-Europe membership (78 per cent according to latest polls) and a Lib-Dem leadership apparently unwilling to take the fight vigorously enough to those Leavers consumed by xenophobia towards ‘foreigners’ and frankly outright ignorance on the European Union, its functions and democratic institutions.

This is the time for those of us who want to stay in Europe to go public in our fight against the damaging, hate inspired ideology of Brexiteers.

French Minister for European Affairs Nathalie Loiseau said recently that France would welcome us back into the EU fold if Britain changed its mind.

England star and Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker has come out in support of a referendum on the final deal – whatever it is.

It’s self evident on a whole range of vital national issues including jobs, workers rights, joint security, university education and the Irish border that a ‘No Deal’ would be catastrophic for Britain.

The 2016 Referendum is two years old, with a narrow vote margin result and anyway suspect with its lies and financial cheating by the Leave Campaign.

Many Britons have moved on since then.

Democracy isn’t democracy if it doesn’t move on.

Whatever happens to the so-called ‘ meaningful vote’ in Parliament it must be ratified by the British people in a referendum on the final deal.

That’s democracy – the current Brexit mess is an appalling pretence of what ought to be happening. It certainly isn’t ‘ in the national interest’.
