A group of travellers who moved onto The Marsh playing fields have left the site.
A spokesman for Weymouth and Portland Borough Council said: “We can confirm that the travellers have left the site and the clear up operation has been completed.”
It comes after the borough council’s spokesman for community facilities said that if the group didn’t move shortly, they could be evicted.
The group moved onto land near to the Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre on Saturday.
They brought with them five caravans, which camped on the playing fields.
Dorset Police were made aware and liaised with the group along with Dorset County Council’s Gypsy Traveller Liaison Officer Paula Clover.
In a statement from county council, Giles Nicholson, team leader for coast and countryside, said the group were expected to leave at the weekend.
