Town centre workers in Dorchester are getting savvy with their tactics for parking in residential streets.

Mayor Cllr David Taylor says that where he lives, about half a mile from the town centre, he often sees several cars parking close to his house and then another car coming along to pick three or four of the occupants up.

The town faces a daily challenge with parking with virtually all roads without parking restrictions now being used for town centre, county and district council staff and NHS employees.

A county council plan to tackle the problem, despite being promised more than a year ago, has still not been published.
