Junior Safety Inspector tours for families are back by popular demand this summer at SafeWise Weymouth.

The charity’s centre next to Weymouth Fire Station on Radipole Lane is opening its doors to help children build confidence and develop valuable skills for life in a fun and interactive real life safety setting.

The tours are aimed at children aged five to 11 years old, but all ages are welcome.

SafeWise Weymouth Manager Ben Heath said: “We enjoyed a fantastic response after introducing the new Junior Safety Inspector tours for the public earlier this year.

“The self-guided tour is designed to last around one and a half hours and consists of solving clues whilst exploring the centre which features a full size road layout and street scene plus fire safety and other scenarios.

“The idea is that families enjoy exploring the SafeWise Centre together to pick up valuable skills, which can not only make a real difference to their future outlook but also potentially save their lives too.

“And more often than not it’s the parents that emerge saying they’ve learnt more than their children!”

All Junior Safety Inspectors pick up a certificate and completion pack when they complete the tour and qualify.

The centre’s community cafe, run by Oh Crumbs, is serving lunch and refreshments.

Tours take place on August 21, 22, 28 and 29. Tickets cost £3 person - under fours go free - bookings need to made in advance at www.picatic.com/SafeWiseWeymouth
