A Weymouth tattoo parlour created an eye-catching flame design on the outside of their building, however they faced uncertainty and it was thought they would have to remove it.

Elite Tattoo and Piercings shop on 8 Thomas Street created a colourful motif showcasing flames and clouds on a white backdrop.

But there were concerns over the fact the art was not in keeping with the other, more traditional Georgian buildings of the town centre.

But will alterations like this encourage more customers into the town centre as the artwork stands out amongst the other perhaps more monochrome buildings?

Maybe a few tweaks to parts of the exterior will allow a more distinct and unique display of what Elite Tattoo and Piercings is all about and allow the shop to showcase some of its work and creativity.

On the other hand, Weymouth is full of historic beauty spots and will making these alterations cast the past into the shadows to make way for more modern buildings that simply won’t fit the rustic casting of this beautiful seaside town?

I think by adding some variety using colour, this could add to the town’s overall appearance and potentially add a little twist to the usual black and white paint palette of the town’s shops.

They could become landmarks for people to visit time and time again adding character, vibrancy and a uniqueness to Weymouth's urban landscape.
