A WOMAN has been fined after drunkenly hurling items out of her flat window, damaging a parked car below.
Joanna Horton, aged 21, of Stourvale Road, Pokesdown, Bournemouth, admitted committing criminal damage at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday. (Aug 10)
Prosecuting, Richard Oakley, told the court the charge related to an incident at Horton’s Stourvale Road flat on April 21 this year.
Dorset Police were called to the address following reports of a person hanging out of a window swearing.
When officers arrived on scene, shortly after 8.30am, Horton continued to swear and referred to them as ‘pigs’, the court heard.
Armed police were also called as Horton was in possession of knives, which she later said were for self-harming.
A number of items were thrown from the window during the incident, with a glass damaging a parked car – chipping it three times.
In police interview afterwards, Horton, said she’d been drinking all night and taking cocaine.
Appearing in court unrepresented, Horton said: “It should not have happened and I am sorry for the damage caused to someone’s car.”
She was fined £85, ordered to pay £100 compensation, a £30 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
