A man seen with a knife in Weymouth sparked a major police search.
Police were called at 12.41pm yesterday, August 19, to a report of a man with a knife in Ranelagh Road.
A major search of the area was launched by officers, with support from the NPAS helicopter.
No injuries or threats made toward members of the public were reported.
A 29-year-old local man was arrested at an address in Ranelagh Road and a knife was recovered from the premises.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "He was arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife or bladed article in a public place and has been released under investigation as police continue their enquiries into the incident."
