A man was rescued after dislocating his shoulder whilst coasteering.

The incident happened at Dancing Ledge on the Jurassic Coast on Saturday.

Both lifeboats from Swanage were launched just after 4pm.

According to an RNLI spokesman, the lifeboat crew received a request from the St Albans Coastguard team for assistance in recovering an injured man.

He added: “The man had been coasteering and had suffered a dislocated shoulder and any movement was difficult. The inshore lifeboat transferred pain relieving gas to the casualty before bringing him carefully to the all-weather lifeboat.

“After transfer he was made comfortable for the passage back to Swanage where he was met by paramedics and taken to hospital for further treatment.”
