All the children from Cheselbourne Village School took off on an adventure to Neverland for the school’s annual summer production.

Students took to the stage at Brewery Hall in Ansty in North Dorset on Thursday, July 19.

This year the play was Peter Pan and the students really enjoyed playing all of the different characters.

From pirates to lost boys and from Tinkerbell to Captain Hook, every single child in the school had a part to play in this performance of the well loved tale of the boy that never grew up.

The annual summer shows at Cheselbourne are always a big success and this year was no exception.

The school received great praise from audience members. Parents, teachers, friends and other family members came to see the performance.

One happy customer commented: "How can the smallest school in Dorset put on such an amazing production? Such fantastic acting and singing.

"Praise must go to the staff and their helpers for all their hard work. These children are very fortunate."

Headteacher Mary See was quick to speak of her pride in her school and its young students: "I am keen that as a small school, as Cheselbourne is, we offer the children the best experience and we provide all the same opportunities as those in larger settings but try to do it better.

"This year’s performance demonstrated this. It was an experience where every single child was able to be involved and play a part in creating the piece as a whole.

"I am passionate about drama and theatre and the power that these creative experiences give children.

"We aim for our children at Cheselbourne to be confident individuals, not afraid to stand up and speak and the performance showed just how well they do that."
