The service was led by the Rev Tony Monds and was attended by staff, parents, governors, members of the community and all the pupils of the school.
Ms Cridland was presented the key to the school by the churchwardens and a bible by Chris Shepherd, who is diocesan director of education.
After the service refreshments were served by the school's PTA and tours of the classroom were given by the pupils on the school council.
