Thank you, to all you have responded so positively, with letters, phone calls of support and by signing the petition to my campaign to 'Save Officers Field'.

Strong opinions, voiced by thousands on the Island, expressing the view that a housing development on 'Officers Field' is not wanted and indeed it is wrong.

Stuart Morris (Historian), Phil Lamming (Portland Partnership), Susann Palmer (Association for Portland Archaeology) and many others have also over the years expressed their doubts, dismay and anger at the proposed development and have lobbied for the retention of 'Officers Field' as an open recreational space.

I have contacted our MP, Lord Coe, Mayor of London (all connected with the Olympic delivery) and others to support my current campaign to prevent this 'theft' of Underhills and Portlands heritage.

To succeed, my campaign requires all the previous energy and support plus some more positive actions.

If all against the development have one voice, support one campaign, then that voice will be too loud for the Regional Development Agency to ignored.

When they hear maybe, just maybe, they will listen and respect the views and opinions of the residents of Portland.

Three things to do, to support me in my campaign to 'Save Officers Field'.

1, Sign the petition against the development , I will be outside the Co-op in Fortune's Well each, Saturday between 10am and 1pm.

2, Vote, make the coming elections a referendum. I shall stand in Underhill as the Independent 'Save Officers Field candidate'. To give the voters in Underhill the chance to express their view and to send a clear message. A vote for me, will be a vote against developing 'Officers Field'.

3, Come to the, 'Day of Action' Sunday May 4th at 1pm. Gather at Officers Field to a public show of solidarity. Portland against the development.

Time has come, to do what Portland does best, to push back, at those who try to push us around.

Coun Tim Munro, Portland.
