WEYMOUTH Cougars' annual presentation day at the Willow-bed Hall, Chickerell once again proved to be a huge success.
Several hundred people enjoyed a fun day in the Weymouth sunshine culminating in the presentation of the individual awards.
A Cougars' spokesman said: "We had success both on and off the pitch with the marvellous efforts of our fundraising teams.
"A special word of thanks goes to our many sponsors without whose kind patronage the club would not be able to function."
Terry White of Snap On Tools was on hand to present his own outstanding performance trophy to Lewis Richards.
Fund raising is the lifeblood of any amateur organisation and many people have given up their spare time to help with the various events throughout the year.
Special tribute was paid to Maggie Hallett for her contribution, which helped to subsidise the club's trip to the new Wembley stadium, and to all those who helped make this year's Summer Sixes an outstanding success, once again securing the club's financial future for the coming season.
The Cougars were keen to acknowledge the contribution made by three people who will be leaving the club before the start of next season.
The spokesman added: "Ken Hansford has been with us for nine years and was last season's vice-chairman while Andrea Hawkins and Penny Alexander were the joint secretaries last year and will be a hard act to follow.
"We thank you all and wish you success in the future.
"Many people contributed to the club's success and we would like to thank all of our players, parents, managers and many helpers for their efforts."
Trophies for Clubman of the Year, Most Improved Player, Players' Player of the Year and Manager's Player of the Year were awarded to each team with medals handed out to all players who represented the club during the 2007/8 season.
Each year a special trophy is kindly donated by the parents of the late, and sadly missed, John Clarke. The recipient of this year's outstanding achievement award was Mark Richards.
