A YOUNG deer had to be rescued by fire crews after falling down a 15-foot deep hole near Blandford.
Around 15 firefighters - including the animal rescue unit from Poole - were alerted by an RSPCA officer shortly after 12pm today.
They spent around an hour releasing the young deer from the hole near Tarrant Rushton.
A Dorset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the deer was carried safely out of the hole by firefighters.
She said the animal was uninjured and was later released back into the wild.
