RESIDENTS are looking forward to going to France after hosting counterparts from their twin town.
Lytchett Matravers Twin-ning Association welcomed a group of 35 residents from the town of Les Pieux, in La Manche, on the Normandy coast.
Dorset Police Superintendent and Lytchett Matravers Twinning Association chairman David Dent welcomed the group to a series of organised activities over the weekend There was a civic reception as guests of the chairman of the parish council, Martyn Colvey, at Lytchett Matravers Village Hall.
This was followed by a dinner and Mo Jive event, attended by 100 people.
The visitors also enjoyed Blue Light Day at Dorset Police headquarters at Winfrith.
A picnic at Durdle Door rounded off the visit and the group returned to France on Monday.
Now members of the association are eagerly awaiting their return visit.
Chairman of the Les Pieux Twinning Associ-ation Nina Rault said: "Everyone had a fantastic time during their stay and looked forward to welcoming the Lytchett Matravers Association to France in the Spring of 2009."
Lytchett Matravers and Les Pieux have been twinned for 15 years.
