THE sun shone on the beautiful, spacious garden of Ruth and Geoffrey Small, who hosted a garden party for members of the Broadmayne and West Knighton WI in August.

The cream tea, augmented with delicious savouries and a variety of cakes contributed by the members, were enjoyed, along with a competition to identify other, slightly more famous gardens, in Dorset. This was won by June Wheeler and the raffle provided prizes for most of the party.

The President, Wendy Stent, thanked Ruth and Geoffrey for inviting everyone to their home for this occasion, which everyone had enjoyed so much.

The normal monthly meetings will recommence at 7pm in Broadmayne Village Hall on Thursday, September 11, when Mr Martin Fielding will be talking about "My Life as a Vet".
