HISTORIAN and author Maureen Attwooll took a ride in a classic car for a new film about the county.

Mrs Attwooll, from Weymouth, is working with the Bristol-based production company 1st Take for a new DVD called Discover Dorset.

The film is a journey along Dorset’s famous coast from west to east, exploring the many diverse and fascinating places en route.

Portland’s stone and Bridport’s rope making are among the industries featured, and the county’s history and literary heritage are also explored.

Mrs Attwooll and the crew travelled to destinations in a 38-year-old Morris Oxford to film scenes for the DVD, which is due to be released early next month. 1st Take’s previous best-selling films include Weymouth Through The Ages and Dorset At War.
