A COUPLE in a car were pursued and intimidated for ten miles around Dorchester by two motorcyclists, police said.
A force spokesman said the couple were followed for around 20 minutes by men who kicked their car, barred their path and shouted at them.
The couple, neither of whom was carrying a mobile phone, eventually raised the alarm by driving to Dorchester Police station.
Police said the 34-year-old woman and her 37-year-old male passenger were travelling in a green and gold Renault Megane in the Dorchester area on Sunday (12) at around 2pm when the trouble began.
The spokesman said the couple, from a village near Dorchester, were overtaken by two motorcyclists on the West Stafford bypass.
It is alleged that one of the motorcyclists shouted towards the car as he passed and that the couple were followed.
The spokesman said it was alleged that after pursuing the car, one of the motorcyclists stopped at a junction in West Knighton to bar the couple’s path and kick the vehicle.
The police spokesman said the couple then began travelling towards Broadmayne and that both motorcyclists continued to follow the car and both kicked it as it continued down the road.
The spokesman said the couple claimed they were stopped again in West Stafford and that one of the riders approached the car at one point gesturing.
It was after this that the couple made it to Dorchester Police station to report the crime.
The spokesman said the car’s occupants were ‘greatly shocked and upset’ by the incident, which lasted for around 20 minutes and during which they were pursued for over 10 miles.
He also said that two men aged 17 and 18 were arrested and later released by police while investigations continue.
The spokesman said investigators are particularly keen to speak to the drivers of a blue Range Rover Freelander and a grey BMW estate who may have witnessed part of the incident in the West Stafford area.
