Puddletown

  • PARENTS and families gathered at Puddletown First School for a well-attended ICT open day recently.

The day began with a cup of coffee, and then Richard Scott, E-learning manager for Dorchester Area Management Schools Partnership (DASP) presented an illustrated talk on internet safety.

Parents listened with rapt attention to the talk that also included a short film on cyber bullying in which a young teenage boy was receiving bullying messages by email. The film had a happy ending although, as Richard pointed out, many real-life cases of bullying of all sorts do not.

After the presentation, families had the fun of seeing a display of the children’s ICT work, and sharing in using some of the resources available.
