Puddletown

  • THE children at Puddletown First School had a lot of fun raising money for comic relief on Red Nose Day.

The children in the reception class made biscuits with red noses on them to sell at break-time.

Year One painted their faces, year Two wore their pyjamas to school, year Three had silly hair and year Four had a sponsored silence.

All the children helped to make a large red nose that was put on the school building, and there was a funny drawing competition that was judged by a funny surprise visitor – a funny bunny, no less!

All the children could come to school in red clothes, and they each brought in a donation to go to comic relief.

All these marvellous efforts resulted in a total of £550 raised. This money will help children who cannot afford to go to school in order that they will have a better chance at receiving an education.

Well done to all the children – they certainly succeeded in Doing Something Funny for Money.

  • DAFFODILS were in bloom at Furzehill for visitors to the daffodil coffee morning to enjoy.

The event was a great success, and made £353 for St Mary’s church funds.
