FOUR local schools and colleges have been included in a guide of the UK's best schools.

Bishop's Stortford High, Hockerill Anglo-European College, Leventhorpe in Sawbridgeworth, and Newport Free Grammar feature in the seventh edition of the Good Schools Guide, which features more than 450 of the country's top private and state schools.

The independent and impartial guide visits each school and gives in-depth inside information which might not be included in the school's prospectus.

Guide editor Ralph Lucas said: "We include the best schools, senior and junior, state and private, but it is not just high-flying academic schools. We aim to cover the best of each type of school in each local area."
