Weymouth wetland project aims to attract special visitors

10:10am Sunday 4th October 2009

A PROJECT in Weymouth which aims to protect the birds of Radipole Lake is inviting the public to take part.

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) Weymouth Wetlands project is well under way, extending the network of ditches and creating more open water.

The improvements will attract a number of birds but particularly the Bearded Tit – a brightly coloured little bird with a long tail.

The RSPB is holding a guided walk on Sunday between 10am-12pm where visitors will help search the reserve for the Bearded Tit.

If you would like to book a place for £3.00 for non-members and £1.50 for members, please call the RSPB on 01305 778313.
