THE Southill School end of year trophies were awarded last term.

Winners were: Patrick - year 5 for achievement, Chloe - year 6 for perseverance, Adam - year 4 for friendship, Cameron, year 3 for sports and Jonathan - year 2 for the arts.

THE newly named Friends of Southill School (FOSS) still have a few seats available on their Christmas Shopping Trip to Ikea and West Quay in Southampton on Saturday, November 21.

Tickets are just £10 for adults.

FOSS Xmas Fayre takes place on Friday, November 27 from 3.15pm in the main hall.

All are welcome at the FOSS AGM, which is at the school at 6.30pm on Wednesday, November 4.

Southill Primary School Open Day is on Tuesday, November 10 from10am for parents/carers of children born between 1.9.05 and 31.8.07.

This is a chance for parents to visit the school during a normal working day.

Pupils will be available to give guided tours and answer questions from the children's point of view.

WORK has at last started to install the much-needed pedestrian crossing at the Dorchester Road Old Police Station.

Visitors to the doctor’s surgery, bus passengers and all who need to cross this busy section of road are looking forward to doing so in safety.

THE Friends of Lodmoor Country Park are hoping for a good turnout for their first annual general meeting.

This is on Thursday, November 19 at The Lodmoor Inn, starting at 6.45 pm.

There will be a review of the year’s activities, discussion of future plans and the appointing of committee members.

Mr Sam Wait, a keen supporter of both Lodmoor and Sandsfoot friends groups and proprietor of the 5Js Café, will be the main speaker.
