Adams of Dorchester backs Dorset Echo Toy Appeal

FAMILY-RUN newsagent Adams in Dorchester is supporting the Dorset Echo’s Christmas Toy Appeal for the second time running.

Shop owner Nathan Adams said he was delighted to be taking part because last year was a great success.

He said: “Adams is very happy to be involved in the Echo’s Christmas Toy Appeal, especially because it is the 10th anniversary.

“We have placed our bin in a prominent position and will try our hardest to encourage customers to donate toys.

“This could make the Christmas of many less fortunate children that little bit more special.

“Every toy will make a difference and each gift will help to put a smile on every child’s face.

“I really hope to fill our bin over and over again and bring lots of happiness to these children.

“We would also like to thank the Dorset Echo for the opportunity to help others at Christmas.”

Adams first opened in 1943 and Nathan said he was happy to be taking part in a community cause that will help children in the area.

More than 20 businesses and companies are supporting the appeal this year and the bins can be found in a number of local stores around Weymouth, Dorchester, Bridport and Portland.

This year we have had more requests than ever for toys from social services, charities, women’s refuges and groups across Dorset.

Shoppers are being urged to drop more toys into bins in the area to meet the demand.
