“SEARCH your conscience – for Andy Mundy’s children there is no closure until you come forward.” That was the appeal from Sergeant Dave Stroud.
He said: “I’m really appealing for members of our community to search their conscience because I’m almost certain there are people that know a significant amount of information about the incident who are withholding it from the police.
“That’s either through misguided loyalty to a friend or associate or they are genuinely concerned of reprisals.”
He said those who contact police can remain confidential.
He added: “Luke, Ashley and Jasmine have lost their father and many other people who were close to Andy are desperately upset.
“For them there is no closure at this point. And for that reason I would urge people to do the decent thing.”
Sgt Stroud said the investigation will ‘remain live’ until the truth has been obtained and the perpetrator is brought to justice.
He added: “The person responsible would undoubtedly have known that he had been in a collision and it’s still not too late for them to contact the police.
“Otherwise that person faces a lifetime of uncertainty and concern that they are going to be apprehended at a later stage.”
