A PENSIONER has had a cool box containing provisions stolen – for the second time in a week.
The box, containing milk and potatoes, was taken from the doorstep of the elderly resident’s home in Nuthatch Close, Little-moor.
A week earlier a similar box was stolen and now Dorset Police are seeking help from the public to find the thief responsible.
PC Stan Knight, of the Wey-mouth Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “The box contained milk and potatoes that had been left by the milkman for the elderly resident, making this a particularly callous crime.
“Sadly it’s not the first time this has happened, as a similar box was stolen the previous Saturday, so this second theft was adding insult to injury for the occupier.
“I need to hear from anyone who has any information that will help me to identify this thief, and from anyone who finds an abandoned grey cool box.”
The grey cool box containing provisions was stolen some time between 5am and 8am on Saturday, March 6.
Witnesses and anyone with any information should call Dorset Police on 01305 222222.
