THE Professionals were on patrol at Cuthbury on September 2 as Warren Doyle notched a hat trick and "Bodie" Barnes weighed in with a brace to take the Badgers out in style.

Doyle's exploits were all the more remarkable when you consider the 16-year-old was making his first full team start, and actually notched his third goal with just 11 minutes on the clock, having opened the scoring in the fourth minute and making it two just three minutes later.

A comedy of errors saw Brock's Dominic Bryan score with a dipping header at the wrong end on 16, with Darren Powell smashing in a trademark 25-yard free kick just four minutes later to make it 5-0.

Barnes slotted home a neat goal from 20 yards on 26, with Sam Percival making it seven with his head six minutes after the break.

Barnes wrapped things up with a close range header on 72 to make it a thoroughly depressing night for the managerless New Forest outfit.

Magpies boss Paul Arnold said he was "delighted" with the way his team performed, but refused to comment on rumours linking him with the managerial vacancy at Bashley.
