COME ON now, I don't care how angry a person might be with the world, everyone loves the Muppets.
Jim Henson had been playing with talking fuzzy-felt for a good 20 years before The Muppet Show finally arrived in the late '70s, and this season one box set is crammed with some superb extra bits and facts of its debut.
It's best to watch with the Muppet Morsels switched on, which are swimming in every bit of information you'll ever need, and occasionally picks holes in season one's apparent shabbiness (sets which looks more like English pubs than the western saloons they were supposed to portray, and glimpses of puppeteers).
This is quite essential.
