MORE than £7,500 of project funding is up for grabs from the Weymouth and Portland Partnership.

Projects in Weymouth and Portland that support people with mental health illnesses to get back into work or continue to work are invited to bid for up to £5,810 of the cash.

The other £1,713 of funding is available to projects in the borough that promote travel initiatives for adults and children.

Weymouth and Portland Partnership manager Louise Stewart said: “Following our last round of grant funding, the Weymouth and Portland Partnership has £7,523 remaining to allocate to projects in the Weymouth and Portland area.

“The funding has been made available though the Dorset Health and Wellbeing Partner-ship from the Department of Health’s Communities for Health fund and the local transport plan through Dorset County Council.”

She added: “Since 2007, through funding provided by Dorset County Council, the Dorset Strategic Partnership, Dorset Health and Wellbeing Partnership and the Department of Health, the Weymouth and Portland Partnership has funded 89 projects in the borough.

“They were all aimed at improving the quality of life for residents and visitors .”
