• THERE will be a Quiz Nite on Saturday, December 11 at St. Paul's Community Centre, Abbotsbury Road. Doors open 7pm for 7.30pm start. Four members per team (over age 10) at an entry charge of £1 per player.

Tea, coffee and juice will be provided or you can bring your own wine.

  • ART CLASSES are held every Wednesday from 3pm in the Beachview Centre in Beachview Close, (near Camp Road).

Wyke Regis School Choir will be carol singing at the centre on Monday, December 6 at 10am and there will be a Christmas Buffet on Saturday, December 11, at 4pm.

On Wednesday, December 22, Father Christmas will be at the centre to meet the youngsters of the local community, with toys for the children and a free mince pie and glass of sherry for the parents.

A free breakfast with Father Christmas will be held at the centre on Christmas Day for people in the local community who live alone.

I have inside information that Santa will be recovering from his hectic night of parcel delivery by taking a stroll around the area near Beach View Close around 7am on Christmas morning. Last year lots of children came out to thank him for their presents.

  • FUNDRAISING by the Society for the Protection of Markham and Little Francis continued with a table top sale which raised just over £300. The society will continue to hold fundraising events to help pay off the various loans made in aid of its campaign to save the town green. The committee will continue to keep the community informed as they investigate how best to proceed after the recent ruling in favour of the landowner, Betterment Properties, by Judge Paul Morgan.
