AN elderly man needed oxygen after a house fire near Bridgwater today.
Fire crews were called to the incident in Southbrook Road, Cannington, at 1.32am to reports of a washing machines on fire.
They put out the fire using buckets of water and a stirrup pump.
They also treated the victim with oxygen after he suffered smoke inhalation.
A Devon & Somerset Fire % Rescue spokesman said: "The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical - damage was 15% to an item."
