• YET another world record event took place at Portesham recently in the shape of the “World championship synchronized pancake tossing to music!”

This was another extremely popular evening organised by St Peter’s church at their annual fish ‘n’ chip supper.

First came the time trial which was won by Adrian Cridge who tossed his pancake 68(ish) times in a minute with great style and panache.

The main event followed in the shape of Waltzing Matilda – alias Dame Edna Whittock and Madge versus the Portesham House Entertainers with Wilson, Keppel and Betty (plus one)’s version of the sand dance.

The Entertainers won by a short toss and just over £300 was raised in aid of church funds.
