THERE was standing room only in Portesham school hall for the school’s end of term musically themed Easter assembly.

Rev Ada Whittock talked about Palm Sunday and Easter and then Richard Budd gave a presentation showing the marvellous work that fundraising has achieved for the Grace Secondary school in Sudan. The school recently raised over £280 from a jumble sale for the project.

Class 1 shared 3 music and dance performances relating to their learning for this term and this was followed by Class 2’s costumed performance of “Tutankhamen”.

Class 3 transformed themselves into an orchestra for a very tuneful rendition of “Hot Cross Buns” played on keyboard, guitar and saxophone to name but a few.

The children’s achievements were then celebrated with the presentation of certificates for Bikeability and football together with attendance and achievement stars.
